Preparing your HVAC System for Winter

Comments Closed

Winter has arrived, but are you ready for the cold months ahead?  More importantly, is your commercial or condo HVAC system ready?  It’s important that your system is properly maintained so that your commercial and residential tenants remain happy.

Consider these two tips for ensuring a toasty winter in your office and condominium:

(1)  A Qualified Inspection:

One of the most important things you can do is to have a qualified professional inspect your system.  A furnace with a cracked exchanger will perform sluggishly at best, and can also be dangerous as it may emit carbon monoxide.  Heat pumps for condominiums should be checked annually to ensure that they’re performing at optimum levels.

A comprehensive inspection of elements by a trained and certified ICS professional will result in tightened electrical connections, energy-efficiency optimization reports, and assurance that dangerous gas is properly vented.

(2)  Preventative Maintenance:

Neglected heating systems reduce energy efficiency and perform poorly.  Not implementing an effective preventative maintenance program will cost you money in two categories: high energy bills and expensive emergency repairs from a sudden stoppage.

As part of our diagnostic and preventative maintenance program, ICM’s HVAC specialists will examine your system for refrigerant leaks, will check your belts, burners, and fans, condensate pans and drain lines, and remove obscuring debris, and clean your coils.  They’ll also add lubrication at key pivot points and test motors to ensure that your system runs optimally.

Inspecting and maintaining your system regularly results in making your comfort dollars go further.
